JOIN US FOR A VIRTUAL RACIAL JUSTICE WORKSHOP!
The elimination of racism is an on-going process that requires persistence, commitment and continued dialogue. YWCA La Crosse is committed to supporting individuals and organizations in eliminating racism through interactive learning, personal reflection, cultural humility, constructive dialogue, and meaningful action.
Over the course of 3 consecutive days you can join our faciliator team and a cohort of community members committed to taking a personal & interactive deep dive into race, racism, privilege, and power.
TOPIC 1 - RACIAL IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT
Looking at culture through the lens of race, YWCA offers this interactive educational training to broaden intercultural and interracial awareness and to improve intercultural and interracial communication.
TOPIC 2 - DECONSTRUCTING RACISM
This workshop is an examination of how racism is embedded in the historical legacy of the United States in our laws, economy, housing markets, and institutions, including our criminal justice and educational systems. By considering this historical legacy, participants come to understand the impact that past policies still have on our society today.
TOPIC 3 - EXPLORING PRIVILEGE
This programming focuses on advancing and enhancing the knowledge of people committed to challenging racism in the U.S. Through shared self-inquiry and analysis, we explore race-based privilege and its impact on and cost to every member of our society.
